When working in any sort of content creation career these days, it pays to be able to wear many hats and perform many services. From traditional filmmaking and video production to new-era social content and photography, a good content creator can do it all—and also bag a camera and gear that is capable of it all.

With the diverse range of high-quality and affordable hybrid mirrorless cameras out there, the camera is seldom an issue. It’s a bit more challenging to find the right mix of gear for all the different photo and video needs.

Let’s take a look at a new, portable, on-camera flash from Godox that could be a great option to keep in your bag for your photo and content needs.

Godox V480 TTL Flash

Designed to deliver a great deal of light in a compact form factor, the Godox 480 TTL on-camera flash combines the best of the company’s 2.4 GHz X system for wireless flash control with TTL auto flash capability.

The V480C model, in particular, is a nice option that is compatible with Canon E-TTL and E-TTL II, and also offers manual, multi, HSS, and second-curtain sync capabilities. The V480 is overall similar to the Godox V860III and V350 flash units, meaning it's smaller than the V860III yet larger and more powerful than the V350. This design is intended to provide a medium-sized, compact, yet powerful lighting solution with advanced features.

Users will find that a convenient LED modeling light is located right in the center of the flash body. Experience fast recharge and long-lasting shoots with a versatile flash head that tilts from -7 to 120° and rotates 330°. The flash itself runs on an included rechargeable battery, allowing for recycling times of 1.7 seconds and providing enough energy for up to 650 full-power flashes.

All V480 models are set to come with a detachable battery, a USB-C cable, a power adapter, a mini stand, and a pouch.

Greater Lighting Control and Effective Battery Power

The flash for these models can be used in manual mode or programmed to fire multiple stroboscopic flashes, and it can also function with high-speed sync for quicker shutter speeds.

Also, as an added bonus, the flash will further feature a guide number of 164' at ISO 100 along with flash durations from 1/600 to 1/20,000 sec, and adjustable output from 1/256 to full power.

As for the battery, a 7.2V, 2200mAh lithium-ion removable battery is supplied, with a recharge time of 1.7 seconds, providing approximately 650 full-power flashes per charge. Godox also includes the USB-C cable and power adapter in the box.
